Export benefits: NESDB adjusts GDP for 2024 from 2.2-2.7% to 2.6-2.8%

Today (6 November 2024), Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade, as Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking (JSCCIB), revealed after the meeting that the JSCCIB has assessed the growth of Thailand's economy (GDP) in 2024 to be likely to expand by 2.6-2.8%, higher than the original estimate in October 2024 of 2.2-2.7%, driven by exports benefiting from the electronics sector's uptrend cycle, which has resulted in exports growing by 2.5-2.9%, higher than the original estimate.
